After the blessing, since it was Fast Sunday, I took the opportunity to go up to the podium and bear my testimony. When I sat back down, Emma told Colby,
"Daddy, now I want you to go speak."
Okay. So Colby went up, as requested.
When he got back, Emma said, "Now I want to go speak."
Okay! Someone else had already made it to the front to testify, but once they finished Colby headed down the aisle with Emma and stood next to her while she bore her first testimony in church.
In truth, she technically just said a prayer into the mike. (We've haven't really discussed or practiced bearing testimonies.) But nonetheless, it was heartfelt & pure, and entirely perfect.
And as it turned out, it was inspiring as well - because 3 more kids from her Sunbeam class proceeded to go to the front to "speak", and (owing to the longwindedness of us grown-ups) the kids ended up outnumbering the adults! Way to start a trend, Emma!
I didn't really get any other pictures that day. Yeah, I stink. We had family over to the house for some yummy lunch & together-time happiness. It was a sweet, memorable day - the first of many important church ordinances for sweet little Adam. Congrats, little buddy!

Okay, I have to fess up. I took no pictures that day. None, nada, zip, zilch, bubkus. The photos above were taken about a week ago when I realized that I'd been putting this off so long, pretty soon his blessing outfit wasn't gonna fit anymore. And as it turned out, it was already a little small. :) Oh well. I was just too busy kissing & snuggling him that day to be bothered with anything else; I don't think that's such a bad thing, right?
