I can't rank tonight, too hard. So we're back to individual summaries:
1) Courtney & Twitch - A great number; of course Twitch is money at what he does, and I always love Courtney in hip-hops. This time was no different! Very fun!
2) Katie & Joshua - No words. I thought this was a masterpiece, yet again, from Mr. Robson. The choreography was both intricate & expansive simultaneously. The emotions onstage were stirring, haunting and BURNING. These two wear "Wade" very well, which can be a difficult thing to do!
3) Courtney & Katie - They did it well, but I kinda wasn't very crazy about this dance. I mean, for the finale show, it just wasn't a heavyweight contender - not as high-caliber a number as what is expected at this point, for me. But they did a great job with it!
4) Twitch & Joshua - Two black B-boys doing a Russian cultural dance? Fo'shizzle! (Yes, I really did say "fo'shizzle." I will accept whatever ribbing that brings me.) Love these guys, they are both sick. I do give the victory of that dance to Joshua - he toe-touched so high they kept having to move the camera shot upwards to follow him!! Bomb.
5) Katie & Twitch - Wow. That was a pretty impecable Foxtrot - and sexy, too!! I'll take a little more of tall, dark Twitch in that tall, dark suit... There were so many little details in the dancing that I'm amazed they caught onto: sustaining the reach-out for the hold but not forming it until the last second, subtly moving their shoulders up/down/front/back in sync with the footwork, the way Twitch would reach for Katie with one hand without forgetting to pay attention to where the other hand was placed & what it was doing... etc. etc. And that lift series at the end was just effortless. Gorgeous!!!
6) Courtney & Joshua - Well, I knew it was coming: my one disappointment of the night. I thought this dance wasn't all that great, and they seemed to struggle a bit with it. And whoever decided not to put Courtney in heels for this dance put her at an automatic disadvantage, it took all the femininity out of her performance. That wasn't a jive, it was a swing. As a swing, it rates a little better. But I think it was the weak point of the night.
7) Group dance - Well, I had to expend a great deal of mental energy to just look past those horrid outfits. But I did; and once I did, well, I was just mildly pleased. I guess I just did not really get it. Not my favorite Mia dance, but I still just love them all!
So, who do I want to win?!? No clue. I can't pick, so I'm just gonna be happy with whomever walks away the victor. That said - it's been a mad season & I'm so sad that I have to wait another 9 months for the next one. :( I'll miss my SYTYCD!!!
A long overdue update

"Fo'shizzle"
I'm watching the results show right now and DANG!!! I've completely fallen in love with this show... thanks for getting me hooked!
So I haven't watched the finale yet (and yes, I still don't know who won..) but your summary is amazing!!! Do you freelance write under some pseudo-name that I don't know about? Seriously. Describing all those things about their foxtrot... what are you?! Obviously, you watch this show with much more of a trained eye than I do. And I almost woke up Tommy laughing so hard about fo'shizzle. Seriously.
