Before we can go on, I must vent - Cat, you're hair scared the living Cheetos outta me!!!!!!!! Where in the world didyou find a tornado in LA to run through?! Wow. Somewhere, there is a stylist that immediately needs to start working on their public apology.
Aaaaaand, it just got so much worse, because now the intro bit is over & we've been introduced to the horror that is Cat's DRESS!!!!!! Shield your eyes children, don't look it straight into the eyes, I think you'll turn into stone!!!! Holy cow, how did beautiful Cat go so very far wrong?? I really hope this isn't an omen for the evening to come...
I could go on forever about this (Cat just used the phrase "bleed from the eyes" - how ironic sweetheart, 'cause speaking of that very thing...) But we've got dancing to cover!
Final four group number: another hit from Tyce, our resident Mr. Broadway! That was sorta like the Kent & Lauren show, but the other two were totally there too & fun to watch. Tonight, for me, is all about deciding between Adechike & Robert, so I'll have my eye closely on them. I'm looking at you boys...
Lauren & Pasha: (man, I can hardly concentrate on the important things with Cat in that dress...) Very good, very clean, very sexy! I wish that Lauren had given a little more resistance in her movements, like dancing through pudding, you know? The Argentine Tango is all about those sticky, restrained movements, interspersed with bursts of quick flicks and lifts, and that dichotomy wasn't quite sharp enough to be truly excellent. But VERY good.
** Seriously, is this supposed to be a joke? Did Cat lose a dare? Are we all getting collectively punk'd? I'm just searching for a reasonable explanation for this. **
Adechike & Lauren: Well the judges have been telling him for weeks that he performs thing too much like an African number, so here's his big chance! Yeah, I guess there's a reason that style comes out so strongly in his performances, 'cause that came very naturally to him. That was a great routine for him, I'm glad he got that opportunity. (And Lauren looks massively rockin' in that outfit, I'm in love with her hair!) And the judges are being way too hard on that - I think they really want Robert to stay...
Robert & Anya: Well considering how hard the judges were on Adechike, they better be pretty tough on this, too. Hmm, that was kinda rough, I thought. Not much emotional connection, and not even a great physical connection either. I was not swept away, didn't feel them floating across the stage as they turned. And as I suspected, the judges are giving him all the praise they can come up with - but it's just not deserved. At least not for this dance. Nope, nope, nope. I know they really want Robert in the finale, but they have to stay focused on each individual piece. Judges, I shake my Stick-of-Shame at you, every one of you.
Kent & Courtney: Shut up, Kent's gonna shake his groove thang?!! Here we go ~~ Well it's my same stuff with Kent: dancing's great, energy is bang, partnering spot on, all around good! But again, Kent is just... such a little boy, lol! He was void of that "Saturday Night" bounce and strut, those things that John Travolta just cemented into the style. The dance was lots of fun, but didn't have any validity as a strong, real disco piece. Kent's a boy; someday he'll be a man & hopefully I'll get the chance to see him dance again when that change has happened.
(Jen, I just realized something - Kent reminds me of your hubby! lol Not in his mannerisms or anything, just little features in his face. Do you see it at all? Colby agrees with me. So there you go.)
And Kent for President? I think that much HAPPY would cause the White House to become structurally unsound & crumble to the ground. haha
Lauren & Ade: A - Ade is sick. B - Lauren is sick. She didn't own that character 100%, but it was like 86, 87%. So very convincing. The style suited her movement as perfectly as that slinky little outfit she's stitched into. ha Love her.
Adechike & Kathryn: Okay, here's the thing with Adechike - he's always great, sometimes stellar... but he's never WILD. He never gets totally swept away, never loses himself, never just runs away with a dance, or lets it run away with him. And as a result, we as viewers never get totally swept away by him. I don't wanna say that wasn't magnificent, because it certainly was; his dancing is untouchable, his form is pure art. But none of his numbers have given me that surreal feeling of forgetting, for just a moment, where I am or what's going on around me, existing just as a witness of a beautiful moment. I sincerely hope that at some point, he develops that quality in his dancing - when he does, he'll be magical.
Rob-"Bozo"-bert & Dom: Nappy-Tab are staying up a little too late at night to brainstorm dance ideas, I think... Oh but they always find a way to make it work, don't they! I'm really surprised by Robert, he has some definite hip-hop-ability! And that was a very strategic costume, really helped to distract from whatever was lacking. He and Dom did a great job of selling a pretty far-fetched concept, and as dancers that is they're #1 job. So points for Robert & his very sad clown.
Kent & Neil: YAY, another Neil & Neil Jr.!!!! And Travis Wall!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! And I'll say right now - they had to do bad-guy Neil? Like, they really had to do that to me, that was really necessary?? As if I'm not obsessed with him enough already!! Gosh. I'll have to rewatch so that I can give one iota of attention to Kent, but I'm sure he was epic. Of course he was. Those 3 boys need to form, like, a "Cool-Blonde-Guys" club & just go touring the world with more undescribable awesomeness like that. I hate to say it, but I'd abandon Colbs at home with the kids & go groupie, LOL! So maybe that's not a great idea...
Um, I can't decide who should stay between Adechike & Robert. So, I'm not gonna decide. America is. :D hehehe
(still geeking out over bad-boy Neil... I suppose I'll just go to sleep now, while that's fresh in my head. hahaha!)

I don't know if I can tell who you want to with the whole shebang? I totally agree with you on Cat's hair AND her putrid dress. I couldn't believe it! I am glad Robert stayed.
