I am simultaneously thrilled and distraught - after all, it's the finale! But, that means, it's the finale. :(
Here goes the beginning of the end, hope it's a spectacular night!
Cat is looking gorg-e-ous tonight; I kinda hate her for that hair, actually. haha Looks like I'll be able to fully enjoy the performances without distraction!
Kent & Lauren: Yay. More Bollywood. * sigh * Well, let's see if the magic of "Kent" can peak my interest in the art form - Oi, no. That was actually pretty silly, and wild, and not in good ways. There were some moments that even seemed messy & out of control; and the judges are apparently sitting behind some sort of rose-colored filter or something, to give it that sort of review. Yuck.
Lauren & Twitch: Another good NappyTab piece; as always Lauren hit it hard & plowed right through it. So true, Mia, Lauren is "filthy." She has such an impeccable touch in hip-hop, dancing not too much like a boy & not too much like a girl - somewhere right in between, in the perfect spot. She's perfect.
Robert & Mark: lol First it was Neil & Neil Jr., now I present.... Mark & Mark Jr.!! They actually look totally alike, it's a little trippy. Robert isn't half as devious or strangely quirky as Mark, but together they gave an "electrifying" performance! I loved it, I thought it was so eccentric and cool. Right piece at the right time for Robert, totally.
Kent's solo: Arghhh, I can't decide!! I was all, "Lauren should totally win", and now I'm like "Kent! Vote for Kent!!" This is is just impossible.
Robert & Lauren: This was a very beautiful dance, to be sure! At the same time, there was a disconnect between Robert and Lauren - not to mention, between the mood & pace of the dance, versus the music & story. Those elements all felt a little confused and incomplete. But the dancing was marvelous, clean and soaring, so overall I think I really liked it. I think. :)
Lauren & Kent: Can't decide. Can't decide. Can't decide. *I will say, the choreography itself was kinda flat for me, definitely not enough meat to show these two off. It was too energetic to be without some more explosive moves; not like "Boogie Shoes", which was relaxed enough to hold up okay without much serious technical dancing. I did enjoy the dance & love these two - it just needed to be more in terms of the dance content that it offered.
Robert's solo: Robert won't win, but I'm glad he's in the finale; he's been great to watch this season.
Kent & Allyson: Hey, who made Kent so sad?! Not allowed! I'm so very proud of Kent for letting himself travel through that emotional landscape and feel it all so deeply. He wasn't playing a character in that situation, he imagined himself in it & simply reacted as he would. It really affected everything about his performance, even & especially his dancing. He sure picked the right week to have his "big-boy" moment! Bravo, Kent.
Lauren's solo: Lauren wins, holy amazing!! But wait, no, Kent's the best!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Robert & Kathryn: Wowza!! That was SO perfectly played by both parties: Robert was wild & slightly desperate, and Kathryn was heavy intense but completely in control. I severely loved the choreography, I call it Fiercely Feisty! Awesome number.
Lauren & Pasha: Ooo, that lift at the end was a bit of a mush pot... But mostly it was very good. There's not much more that I can say about Lauren. I'm back on Team Lauren. for the moment...
Kent & Robert: With a bit more malice and murderous intent behind it, that routine could've been quite spectacular. Those two sweet boys couldn't quite give it the menace that it needed to be really great, but it was certainly a climactic show-ender. So, that wraps it up!
It's done, that's all she wrote. And... I still don't know who should win. Can't they just acknowledge Kent & Lauren as a couple and let them jointly win? If only. Can't wait to see what happens!!

And thanks for following along this season, hopefully I provided at least a few of you with some mild entertainment. (Aim low, that's my motto. :D) G'nite, all!!
