I. Will. Kill. Myself.

It's naptime, so I decided to do a little blogging. The only problem is, Emma has missed the memo about naptime.

This makes now the 4th day in the past week that Emma will not be taking a nap. She's been down there now for an hour & 15 minutes, doing a variety of things that fall nowhere near the category of "sleeping."

I have NO idea what has happened with her! She always takes naps really well, it doesn't even take her a little while to get to sleep; we read books, I lay her down & leave, and she's out. Just like clockwork. But something inexplicable has happened & apparently the clock's busted to heck.

Truly people, this cannot be happening. If she stops taking naps this early, I will lose my ever-lovin' MIND!!! I'll just let her sit in her bed, 2 hours a day, for the next year - just so that I can have a break & keep from strangling her. (Not really, of course, but you know how it can be...)

Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone know of some Mommy-Black-Market where I can score some illegal toddler sleeping pills? I'm so distraught right now. Please Santa, all I want for Christmas is a napping 2-year old!!!!

(Sidenote: she's been repeating "Mommy, I'm awake" for about 15 minutes now. See, because I told her we'd do lots of fun things after she woke up from her nap. Yes, Emma, you are indeed awake - but you missed one CRUCIAL step in that equation... the nap!!)

is she sick...? Hate to tell you that when Maggie hit 2 she started to nap less and less. Like you said just leave her in her room for 2 hours, she'll get the hint.

Try napping her a little later. I had to do that with Dominic. He goes down at 2:00 instead of 1 and he still naps good. Try it.

That totally sucks!! The nap time is the most precious, sacred time of the day. Maybe you could bungee cord her down. Is she sleeping in longer than normal in the morning? Or is she going to sleep too early at night? Good luck.

Both of my boys have stopped napping when they turned two. Quiet time worked well with the first. The second gets a 5pm bedtime. He's 3.5 now and still goes down at 5 or 5:30 and sleeps until 5 or 6am. If she won't sleep the whole night then, I'd stick with the quiet time she's seems to not mind and then do an earlier (but not super early) bedtime.
Good Luck!
