30 years of cheesy-goodness!

As Colby put it, today we celebrated his "First 29th-Birthday Anniversary." C'mon Colbs, guys don't have to start flubbing their age until at least 40, right? No worries - you're Thirty, Flirty & Thriving!! (Name that movie.) We had a fun weekend playing with Emma and, of course, watching Red Sox games until the wee hours of the morn. (See: O'dark-Thirty, that hour when brain function is replaced by mind-goo.)

Colby did quite well this year, with new Doc boots, lots of Looney Tunes DVD's, new suits (not pictured), the Scrabble Red Sox edition & other Red Sox paraphenalia - aaand, my fabulous find, a new $360.00 backpack!! I flaunt the price so proudly because that's not AT ALL what I paid. Here's the story:

The JC Penney by my parent's house in Salt Lake is closing & they were having closeout "everything-must-go" deals. I saw these backpacks and (knowing Colby needs a nice new one badly) thought I'd see how much they were. And I'm not lying, the original price on it was three-sixty big ones - for a BACKPACK!! Here's proof:

I guess whoever would pay that price deserves to be ripped off so bad... Anyway, it was definitely a sweet bag so I thought I'd ask what its clearance price would be. And you'd better believe I asked the gentleman to double-check when he told me that it was 90% off! That's right, I paid $36 for this luxury Samsonite laptop backpack. And you KNOW what we in the Harmon household call that:

STEEEALOFADEEEAL!!!

I bought it over a month ago & am still exceedingly proud of my find. But it's nothing compared to my biggest find ever - Colby James! We are so very lucky to have such an incredibly hard-working, caring, giving individual at the head of our home. And, I am endlessly blessed to have you as my best friend & true sweetheart. We love you, Dad!
