Big kid.

This is a big kid.

Yes, I realize that he's actually a very little guy compared to most babies his age - heck, even compared to many that aren't yet his age. But, this is one BIG KID!

About a week or two ago, I started giving him little bits of whatever we were eating, stuff that he could handle: some green beans, a little yogurt. Since then, here's a list of what he's had:
  • peas
  • green beans
  • mashed potatoes
  • whole wheat bread
  • rice
  • yogurt
  • cottage cheese
  • egg whites
  • waffles
  • peaches
  • bananas
  • fruit smoothie
  • chicken nuggets
  • chocolate cake
  • peanut butter cookie (that was Grandma Jane's doing)
  • suckers (again, not my doing...)
I know there's other things I'm forgetting, but I think that gives a pretty good picture of the situation. Like I said, this is a big kid! But oh what a good kid he is. Most naps I just lay him in bed, and he sits up to watch me leave, then lays down and goes to sleep. He's starting to do pretty well at night, frequently just waking up once to eat - for him that's stellar!

He's also got such a sense of humor, a little tease just like his big sister was from day one. He's totally ticklish, especially under his arms, and the little machine-gun giggle that ensues is nearly the best sound in the world. Pure happiness.
