Okay, I'm admittedly still on an Eclipse high & totally distracted from anything else - but for SYTYCD, I shall pull myself from my stupor & think DANCE!
Okay first off, I'm fairly certain I've seen Cat wear that dress before. Which would be completely forbidden by wardrobe so I'm sure I'm wrong, but I'm also kinda sure I'm right... Puts me in a tough spot with myself.
Anyway, that's not important anymore because we've got the first couple up, and its...
Adechike & Lauren: This week brings HUGE improvement from Adechike! Knew crazy Lauren could bring bring it out in him. :) And that routine certainly helped, what a slick and shakin' number from Dave Scott. There were just a few moments where he looked a little too concerned about the moves, but they were so little that I hardly registered them. He threw it down with swagger and flash, and just like that Adechike is adorable & totally on my radar.
Ashley & Ade: (That package was a little too cheese-fest for me.) Another song from Florence + the Machine, love it! Gorgeous gorgeous dance without a doubt, these two are both stellar technically and the performance was given everything they had. I didn't get quite enough chemistry and connection from within between them, that's the only thing that could've improved it for me.
Billy's solo: It's fun that Billy was on season 6 (albeit briefly) 'cause we have some history of him to refer to, and see how he's grown even from a year ago. His style is still totally him, but you can see bits of experimentation is his dance, which is great!
Robert & Courtney: The best thing I can say about this dance is to say this - anything about it I liked was due to those two dancing it. (Not really due to the choreography & definitely not due to the costume department.) Yeah, it wasn't my favorite Sonya number, but Robert used fingers/toes/everything in between to sell it & he did!
Jose's solo: Yeah, I'd still just rather see Legacy back.
Melinda & Pasha: Darn costume malfunctions! They can be so hard to recover from, and for Melinda toinght it was kinda this kiss of death. It took her a good minute or so to rebound, and after that she still danced it more like a hip-hop and less like a salsa. Toes weren't pointed, lines weren't extended through, and it just didn't seep feminine sensuality like the salsa should. And YAY! for Mia and Adam copping to their mistake last week, thank you! I was very unhappy that we lost Christina and kept Melinda. We'll see how tomorrow night goes for her.
Kent's solo: KENT!!! Boy, you still don't know how good you are, do you!?!? Ridiculous.
Alex's solo: For some reason, he all of a sudden looks TINY! I don't know. But of course, he's epic.
Lauren & Neil: Neil, and "Sultry" = Two words I'll never complain about hearing in the same sentence. :) Okay so Lauren gets highest marks of the night for finishing like that, with that going on!! Wow, T.R.O.O.P.E.R. I get what Mia and Adam are saying, but I felt like Lauren already showed a lot of improvement in that way tonight, so poo-poo on them. Go Lauren!
Ashley's solo: Weak. Missed opportunity Ash, for sure.
Billy & Kathryn: ** Kathryn was SOOOO underappreciated during her season, no joke.** Anyway, that was really lovely & Billy finally came across to me as being a little more masculine and grounded. I did feel some good connection between them, apparently the judges didn't.
Robert's solo: Good solo from Robert, sure do like him.
Jose & Anya: Oh, this could be bad... And yes indeedy it was. I wish I could've just watched Dmitry and Anya perform that, that would have exploded! It appears the judges are at it again, they're in some deluded state of confusion once more when it comes to Jose. They should be ripping this dance to little skinny pieces to match his cornrows, and instead I just heard Adam call him "brilliant." Seriously!!
Melinda's solo: Great tapping, sure! Isn't translating to anything else, though.
Kent & Allyson: (And I continued to be utterly obsessed with Allyson, gorge!) Well, Kent "the Man" wanted to storm on in but he was running behind & Kent "the Boy" had to fill in. And for all the (failed) effort he was putting into bringing out "the man", it actually started to affect his dancing as well. So, sorry Kent, but you're still one of my tops!
Adechike's solo: Hmm, odd one this. Didn't really get it. But he's a great dancer!
Lauren's solo: Okay, for anyone out there who needed clarification - THAT is exactly what Mia was referring to when she called Lauren an "athletic female dancer." Wow!
Alex & Twitch!: Yay, I was hoping with the new setup this season that we'd see some pairings of guy/guy and girl/girl. And with this one, Alex just won dance of the NIGHT! I was so prepared to type "You just can't take the ballet outta a ballet dancer", and BAM! There went the ballet dancer, right under the bus!! Holy hip-hoppin' Alex Wong, that was reeeeeeeediculous & so flat-out SICK! And that ending - I am still rolling on the floor! DANCE. OF. THE. NIGHT. Rewinding right now. :)
Pretty good night, all things considered! But, a bottom 3 there must be: Melinda, Jose (please oh please), and *oh gosh I wish it weren't but* probably Robert again. I don't know why, but I just don't know if he's grabbing viewers as well as he should...
Okay, that was super-duper fun. Now back to dreaming of ECLIPSE! Anyone wanna go with me so I have a legitimate reason to go again? Or to prevent me from being super pathetic & going by myself? :) hahaha
(It's funny 'cause it's true.)
A long overdue update

I am pretty sure it was the same dress as well. I remember thinking the same thing, "Why would wardrobe let her do that." If we both thought it, it must be true.
