Sneakers & Crackers

These are a few of Emma's favorite things, sneakers & crackers. And not just sneakers - really any shoes will do! While getting dressed the other morning, Emma was running around nakey for a few minutes. She went into the mud room, fetched both her sneakers, and brought them out to me to put on her. Sure, lil' gal! 

Then she went running into the kitchen, stopped at the snack drawer, and started madly signing "cracker." (This is neither odd nor unusual for her, she requests crackers about 43 separate times throughout any given day.) 

This time, she not only told me what she wanted... (the sign for cracker is made by tapping one fist on the other elbow)

... but also where I could find them!

Yep, she's our little outgoing, "type A" angel!  

This is decidedly her strangest new trick: we call it "the Ostrich Monkey." She'll just be walking along, then stop, bend, & hold for about 15-20 seconds.  

I can't think of what might have inspired this, other than pure unbridled toddler curiosity. Whatever the source, it sure keeps me entertained!
