Utahns once again

Since arriving in Utah, we've been super-busy settling in & getting organized, all while navigating the madness of holiday celebrations. Here's just some random pics of Emma's adventures in her new place:

Our first evening here, we headed over to Grandma Joni's house for Harmon cookie night!  The jury wasn't out long before delivering the verdict that... Emma likey the cookies!

Following with the messy eating pictures, I present to you Velveeta Art by Emma!

I'm fully used to this now, but Grandma Jane is still acclimating to Emma's unique "on-the-move" way of eating.  (For those pegging me as a horribly stupid mother for not simply buckling Emma into the highchair, take into consideration her innate monkey-ness. She can get out of any set of straps you put around her, and once she does she's just mad and won't eat anymore. Instead, I let her stand and sit at will, therefore keeping her happy & willing to nourish her slim figure. :D)

My favorite part about this picture is the chic "Nana-do" that Emma is sporting. She we eating bananas & of course had to then run her fingers all through her hair. This look stayed for hours; perhaps I should harness the styling power of mashed bananas to tame my own messy hair!

Emma got a glimpse of the future one day when she took a ride in cousin Jackson's carseat - and it was an even bigger hit than I'd expected! She just sat looking out the window, giggling as she watched things go by. After consulting my ever-wise older sister, we agreed that Emma's height is more than enough to safely fit into this bigger carseat. So we've ordered her new big-girl ride & are anxiously awaiting its arrival on our porch - none more anxiously than Emma, I'm sure!

Toy shopping! Emma has such a grand time in toy stores, she goes bonkers for all the new stuff around her! She took a turn around Toys-R-Us in this sweet ride, but had to part ways with it at the door. I have to put my foot down somewhere, 1-year olds do not need pink convertibles!!

Since I didn't get to see the lights at Temple Square last year (on house-arrest with screaming newborn Emma), we were excited to head out this year to see those little lights a-twinklin'.

This is just December, people, and I haven't even started on Christmas yet! Our days here are proving to be very entertaining, that's for certain.
