(at first Emma was Jessi riding Bullseye....
...but that proved to be a problematic pairing as trick-or-treating commenced, so Bullseye headed back to the barn for a little Halloween nap.)
I'm quite proud of my creations - I made Woody's vest from scratch, complete with yellow felt lining, gold stitching around the edge & a Shrinky-Dink Sheriff's badge (a precise copy of Woody's actual badge); I turned a plain white shirt into an exact replica of Jessi's shirt, with yellow panels & red swirl details; I deconstructed a pair of jeans & reassembled them with cowprint chaps sewn in for Jessi's pants; I created authentic replicas of their belt buckles with Shrinky-Dinks, as well as their iconic oversized white buttons; I painted Woody's hat the perfect shade of brown; I even made a Jessi wig out of red yarn to complete Emma's transformation.
Like I said, I'm proud of myself! hehe
Sadly these costumes didn't really see a lot of screen time, other than for trick-or-treating. *ahem, mother.....* apparently when I go to Vegas for a day, Emma becomes reigning queen of the castle & master of her own fate - which means dressing up for the pumpkin festival / aquarium Halloween activity / our ward's trunk'or'treat as a dog. which is a whole 'nother issue let's not get into... ~ sigh~ I guess it is true that no one other than me can really force Emma to do anything, so I'll just be thankful for the power I do have.
We had a great Halloween season & I've now helped fulfill my desire to feel like a domestic, crafty mother. Next year: buying costumes!! LOL
