And now, let's all take a moment... for DANCE!

It's the Week 5 roundup, boys & girls, so buckle up! Okay it's late so I'm gonna try to be quick about this, but who knows how well that'll go over:

Chelsea & Mark:
#1 - Awesome! Chelsea is sure hot for a tomboy, and I think Mark did a lot better than the judges gave him credit for.
#2 - Loved this! I ate it up for sure. It had spice, sass & spark - and one more S... Sexy!

Thayne & Comfort:
#1 - Thayne did pretty good considering it's not at all his style; Comfort didn't quite do well enough considering it IS her style.
#2 - Boorrrrr. Ing. Thayne was fine, it's true. Comfort did the movements, but that is ALL she did. Far too stiff & dang-near emotionless. I felt the same as Mia - it was such a cool piece that I wish I could've seen someone else do it.

Jessica & Will:
#1 - Very beautiful & very... nude-ful? hehe Really stunning number, one of my favorites for the night.
#2 - Aaaand, we're back to the norm - Will (while not as brilliant as usual) outdid Jess.

Courtney & Gev:
#1 - Pretty darn good! They were a touch loose & sloppy at times - I frankly thought the judges went quite easy on them... But how adorable was the ensuing chest hair fight?!
#2 - I call this the "Sizzlin' Sticky Jungle Dance!" I ADORED this number (possibly my favorite of the night); they were so in tune & RAW. And I want Courtney's tummy; think she'd go for a trade?

Kherington & Twitch:
#1 - K, I just don't like crump. I'd be fine to never see another crump number. But, they threw down & smashed (in a good way) what they were given... even if they were given POO.
#2 - Most importantly, I LOVE this song! But for the dance, neither of them did their best, especially Twitch. Not terrible, but real tame - which, for the Tango, IS terrible.

Katie & Joshua:
#1 - I thought it was very beautiful & Katie was purely dazzling. And after a second viewing, I thought the judges were too hard on Joshua; he really did pretty decently.
#2 - Bollywood? Really? Okay well, leaving out my personal feelings about the style... They had such great energy & unison, and awesome "bounce" in their movements. They really grabbed this & ran with it. Great job! (And I'll try to work on my appreciation of Bollywood dancing.)

And finally... I of course love Mia as a choreographer, but I truly equally LOVE her as a judge! I know I've said it before, but everytime she's on as a judge she is my favorite part of the whole show. She uses such vivid language & her critiques literally paint pictures with words. Like how she described Thayne's dancing as "thick?" What a insightful & poignant perception - cause that's totally true of him! I would just describe him as having strength & resistance in his movement, but her way of saying it is sooo much better. Come back next week, Mia, and dazzle me with your words!!

Oh yeah, almost forgot about predictions. Not a lost of surprise here, for the most part: it'll be Thayne/Comfort, Courtney/Gev, and Will/Jessica. (Although a little part of me is starting to get nervous feelings for Chelsea & Mark...)

And I SWEAR, if anyone other than Thayne & Comfort go home I'll throw EGGS at my own TV!!!

Excellent run down. I think I mainly agree.

I actually voted tonight. I voted for every single couple except for Thayne and Comfort (even though I do think Thayne did a better than expected job on their hip hop. But that second dance was painful to watch). They have to be the ones to go home. Right?! Actually, I almost didn't vote for Will and Jessica because i wouldn't mind seeing her go home either. It makes me so uncomfortable to watch the judges tell her how terrible she is and how great will is. Mia's comment about Will needing a new partner and him being tired of carrying her around made me squinch up. Can you say that?! So, maybe she should just go so we don't have to listen to it anymore. I can't think that the judges would ever send Will home so I think it would be okay for them to be in the bottom three.

My fear is that Chelsea and Mark end up in the bottom three because i can totally see them sending Mark home. It is true that his technique is lacking but I love watching him perform. Chelsea and Mark and Courtney and Gev are my favorite couples.

So here's my question. Do you think Courtney still has a boyfriend or do you think she and Gev are a couple now? Gev has been so obviously smitten (as you noted earlier) with her almost to the point where it was awkward to watch their little post-dance interaction because it was so obvious. But he seems so much more relaxed now. And they are so great together. It just makes me wonder.

p.s. I thought the same think about Mia's description of being "thick". I also like having her as a judge.
