We love America & fireworks!!

As is Harmon family tradition, we all went down to Granite High School for the pre-4th holiday celebration that's always held on July 3rd. The original plan was to head home with Emma at about 8 pm, but once cousin Jesse got there they were having so much fun playing & Emma was staying so happy that we went for broke & stayed around for the fireworks at 10:15.

And we're so glad we did - come to find out, Emma loves fireworks! Not scared by them at all. (which we're certainly not surprised by, she ain't scared of anything) She sat back in her stroller and would periodically say "Pitty" (pretty) and "Wooooooo-w". After about two minutes, she sat straight up in her stroller & started signing "love" with all the force she could muster - melt my heart, why don't ya! I think we have many successful July 4th celebrations to look forward to in the years to come.

For our day-of fun, we first went swimming over at Brooklyn's house; and thank you to my new sis for these pics, I didn't take any this day!

Watching Brooklyn trying to get a decent picture of Emma was, in a word, hilarious. She did manage to get this winner - Welcome to the world a la Emma, Brookano!

Emma & Mommy going down the slide - and yes, my mondo-hips successfully maneuvered their way down the slim path. :P

And the photo of the day: Jane's exuberant ride down the slippery slope!

That's all the photos I've got for our Fourth of July fun, but what fun it was! We also got to go to a matinee of Hancock while Emma slept, which I thought was really great (other than the slightly excessive language).

The best part of the holiday, for me, came after Emma was asleep for the night & I got to watch the Boston Fireworks on TV. I miss Boston so much!!! After you've done the 4th in Boston "Home of the Revolution" Mass., everything else just pales in comparison. I'm so glad for the holidays we were able to spend there & feel the history all around us, reminding us what we were celebrating. God Bless America!!
