"Emma, what was your costume for Halloween?"
"Blue! Cho-co-late! M&M!!!"

Let's just say, Emma loved Halloween this year. First, she was in LOVE with her costume! We bought it a few weeks ago at Kid-to-Kid, and she would want to wear it around the house for a little while practically every day. So, I felt inspired enough to go ahead & make matching costumes for Colby and I - whaddya think?

We headed out trick-or-treating on Halloween, and after about two or three houses, she had the routine down to perfection. She'd make her way up the stairs, beeline for the door & wait for someone to come. Then, when they appeared at the door with candy she'd give the obilagtory "Trick or Treat!" and take her piece of candy. Carefully dropping it into her bag, she'd then turn back for another - and being the cutie she is, the people would unfortunately never refuse. (Result: Emma has about twice as much candy as she needs.) Finally, she'd say "Thank you" and "Happy Halloween" (after being prompted by us, of course), and go running back down the sidewalk yelling "NEXT HOUSE!!" She's a natural!
And although our costumes were the bane of my existence for about a week & I wanted to burn them immediately after getting home, I can look back now and be proud of myself for being such a non-crafty person who completed a decidedly "crafty" project. So I guess I'll hold off on the "shred'n'burn" fun for now...

Happy Halloween!!!
** Side note: We were so lucky this year to be back in Boston for Halloween - Emma and I have been here for over a week babysitting my old "nannying" family while their mom is on a trip to Europe. Colby joined us on Wednesday, his birthday, and it's been great being back here all together again. We did our trick-or-treating with the kids, and have met up with some friends while here. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I really miss Boston!!!

Awesome M&M costumes Kristy!! They're so cool! You even got the font on the "m&m" down perfectly. I am so impressed. Emma's costume is so cute. Sounds like she is a trick-or-treating natural. We experienced the same joy at our house this Halloween.
Now, on to Emma's birthday!
Great costumes Kristen.
Awww what a cute chocolatey family!
