Thursday's Post :)

Last night, when I was putting Emma to bed, I was able to witness the sweetest, most precious thing in my entire life: Emma's very first prayer.

Here's what happened: We'd put jammies on & I was making up her bed while she picked out books. She'd picked 2 & then climbed onto the couch (she has a small couch in her room, long story...). I expected her to just start reading the books by herself, as always.

Instead, as I look over, I see her folding her arms & bowing her head down, and this is what I heard:

"Father - Prophet. Family. Thank you. Love, Amen." (punctuation added by me, of course)

I can guarantee that He enjoyed that infinitely better than any prayer I've said with her. After she finished, she just turned & picked up a book, and started reading - like she'd done nothing out of the ordinary.

Later, when I was going to bed, I certainly stopped to think about whether the prayer I was offering was anywhere near as simple & heartfelt as what I'd heard my daughter say. So Emma love, thank you again for all that you teach me. You are my "little angel!"
